Do you have a blog? Are you blogging frequently? Have you always wondering if blogging pays off or why companies bother blogging?
One of my favorite blogs to follow is Quick Sprout. Neil Patel provide top quality information and advice for businesses in actionable steps.
One of his latest blog post and infographic “How Blogging Effects Your Bottom Line” provides supporting evidence to why blogging is so important for any business.
I’ve definitely created more leads and closed business because of my blog. Just the other day I had a lead from 6 months ago contact me and sign up for a 3 month coaching contract. Why? Because my blog/newsletters help build my credibility and trust and kept my business coaching services top of mind.

I am learning to like blogging. I think it helps you define the person you are.
Heather Cameron says
Julie – it definitely helps define the voice you want to offer your public. I know it has been really helpful for me to clarify my message and audience.

I enjoy blogging and I try to do it as much as possible. I do it for myself really as a creative outlet and another way to express myself and educate others. If I am being honest though, it really hasn’t improved my business’ bottom line. My clients don’t really read blogs.
Heather Cameron says
Veronica – I think you blog is great and I’m surprised it hasn’t attracted clients for you yet. It would be interesting to survey your clients, present and past, to see if any have read your blog, if no, why not. You might be surprised by the answers.
tina says
I enjoy blogging. I try to blog at least once a week, except for right now when I’m blogging more for Valentine’s Day.
Heather Cameron says
Tina – that is great that you love blogging. I think so many people see it as a scary and a time waste. I have a colleague who needs to blog but she’s set up such a road block in her mind that she can’t see the value in doing it. It is unfortunate because she’s losing a important marketing avenue for her business.

I added 1 weekly blog to my calendar and have enjoyed watching it please readers as it winds its way in new directions.I think blogging is ian mportant part of marketing.
Heather Cameron says
Rosyln – I love that, adding one weekly blog theme to your calendar is a great approach. It is advice I give people who blog, set a theme per blogging day of the week and try to stick to it.

Not only is the information fabulous in this post, Heather, but it looks awesome as well. I loved reading the sequence of the conversation in here and really get how important regular blogging is to building your business. Congrats on your leads paying off and I really get that sometimes someone from longer ago, may show up and hire you to work with them. You never know…so it is worth continuing to put out interesting and valuable content.
Heather Cameron says
Beverley – thanks for the comment and posting. It is so important to post regularly. To keep the conversation going with your audience.
Meryl Hershey Beck says
Very informative. Blogging is very important for your business. Become an expert in your field and share that knowledge with your audience. Be aware of their needs and offer quality content.
Heather Cameron says
Meryl – It is important and becoming more important for business that rely on being an expert and knowledgeable. The key is to know your audience so your provide value. The old “being the best” isn’t going to work anymore. You need to let people learn from your knowledge.
Tea says
I would really love to blog…but I just don’t have time:(
Heather Cameron says
Tea – If you’d love to blog I’d have to ask what value it would bring to you? What could you let go to fit blogging in? What would be the purpose of your blogging? If it is important enough to you or your business then you have to figure out how to fit it in.
